Breaking news:
Casey Anthony found not guilty.

Publication: Huffington Post
Date: 5 July 2011

Casey Anthony was found not guilty of the murder of her daughter Caylee Anthony but was found guilty of lying to police. The case took 33 days, but the jurors took less then a day to come to their verdict.

I was disbelieving when the National Enquirer claimed this would be the case and skeptical when People repeated it, but obviously they were talking to people better informed than I am. The case was based on circumstantial evidence and the defense did a good job of showing the autopsy was botched.

Still, the press is going to raise a stink and she could easily become a cause celebre like O.J.

How that jury found her not guilty is amazing to me. I watched about one hour of trial coverage one afternoon and thought she was guilty as Hell.
Innocent mothers simply do not stash their toddlers' bodies in their car trunks for several months.
And if the kid drowned in the family pool accidentally, who would stash the body in a car trunk and lie about the kid's whereabouts for an entire month?

I felt like you did when the prosecution was presenting its case, but the defense did a great job of showing the prosecution was all circumstantial and a lot of it very shoddy.

My guess is she didn't tell the cops because her dad the ex-cop told her not to. There's a hell of a lot of blame to throw around in this one.
